About these terms
These terms apply when you complete an identity verification powered by secuveri GmbH ("secuveri", "we"), Baarerstrasse 135, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. The organisation that asked you to verify is the "organisation".
By selecting "Continue" at the start of the verification, you accept these terms. Please also read the Verification Privacy Notice.
1. Who is involved
- You: the person completing the verification.
- The organisation that asked you to verify. It decides why the verification is needed, which checks run, and what happens with the result.
- secuveri, which provides the verification technology and runs the checks for the organisation.
If the flow shows the organisation's branding, secuveri may still be the provider behind it.
2. What the verification may involve
Depending on the organisation's setup:
- photos of your identity document and reading its data;
- reading your document's chip with your phone;
- selfie images and a liveness check that confirms a real person is present;
- comparing your face with the photo on your document;
- checks for forged, edited or presented (printed or on-screen) documents and faces.
3. Your consent
By selecting "Continue" you confirm that:
- you have read the notice shown on the start screen;
- you consent to secuveri processing your face images and the biometric data derived from them to verify your identity for the organisation, as described in the Verification Privacy Notice;
- you allow the verification to use your device's camera and, if you choose, its NFC reader.
You can withdraw your consent at any time (see the Verification Privacy Notice, section 7).
4. If you don't want to continue
You don't have to continue. If you stop, the organisation may not be able to give you the service or access you asked for. Whether it offers another way to verify you is up to the organisation; ask it directly.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to verify only yourself, using your own genuine and valid document, to provide accurate information and follow the on-screen instructions, and to repeat a step if asked, for example because an image was unreadable. You must not:
- impersonate anyone, or use a forged, altered, stolen or someone else's document;
- show the camera a photo, screen, mask, recording or generated image instead of yourself;
- interfere with, automate, reverse engineer or try to bypass the verification or its security checks.
Attempts to deceive the verification may be reported to the organisation and, where the law requires it, to the authorities.
6. Results
The checks run automatically, sometimes followed by a human review by the organisation. The result goes to the organisation, which decides what happens next. A result can be affected by image quality, lighting, your device and connection, so we can't guarantee that every genuine document or person will be verified. If you think a result is wrong, contact the organisation; you can ask for a human review (see the Verification Privacy Notice, section 8).
7. Privacy
How your data is processed is explained in the Verification Privacy Notice and in the organisation's own privacy notice. In short:
- your data is processed and stored in Switzerland;
- it is used for the verification, fraud prevention and security;
- in pseudonymised form, it may be used to improve our fraud-detection models, never face recognition without your separate consent; you can object at any time;
- it is never sold.
8. Availability
We may pause or stop a verification to protect security, investigate suspected fraud, fix technical problems or comply with the law. The organisation may also end the verification under its own rules.
9. Intellectual property
secuveri keeps all rights in the verification technology. You may use it only to complete the verification you were asked to do. Your personal data remains yours.
10. Liability
The verification is provided as available, without guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, secuveri is not liable to you for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, or any right you have under mandatory law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies is the one published when you start the verification.
12. Governing law
Swiss law applies, unless mandatory law where you live gives you other rights. Courts in Zug, Switzerland, have jurisdiction, without prejudice to your right to sue where you live if mandatory consumer law allows it.
